Distracted Driving leads to Death

Rennett StoweA little drift into the wrong lane can mean the difference between life and death.  It was tragically the latter in this case. Amanda Collins was driving her kids somewhere when she slid across the road and slammed into a snowbank.  While the vehicle’s passenger side was exposed to oncoming traffic, a truck smashed into the vehicle.

Kalamazoo Accident Leaves Two Family Members Dead

Julia Jordan ScottIn an accident that happened last month, a minivan driven by Anneka Vels, 17 years old, slide off the road and crash into a large tree as she was attempting to drive herself and her brother Landon Vels to school. The car reportedly burst into flames upon impact and despite the heroic efforts of witnesses as well as fire fighters, the blaze could not be extinguished. Both teens were killed as a result. Multi-Car Pileup on US-31 Injures Deputy

mlive.comIn what could be termed a miracle, there was only one injury in the massive car pileup that happened on Southbound U.S. 31 at White Lake Drive.  Believed to be a result of the recent winter weather, the pileup began just after 9:30 in the morning and at least two police vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction collision that police estimated to be about 40 vehicles.. Separate Michigan Auto Accidents Claim the Lives of Two Cyclists

Two recent Michigan Auto Accidents resulted in two cyclists being killed.

According to an article from CBS Detroit, the first incident occurred on the afternoon of July 4 in the town of Oden, Michigan. A spokesperson for the Emmet County Sheriff’s Department, Pete Wallin, explained that the 58-year-old male victim was riding his bike along a local road when a vehicle driven by a 30-year-old man suddenly struck him. Paramedics attempted to revive the victim following the collision, but the cyclist died at the scene.
