Michigan Family Law Attorneys
Few legal areas are as emotionally charged as family law. Divorce and child custody cases, in particular, can raise tensions that linger throughout the legal process.
That’s why the family lawyers at The Stroble Law Firm P.C. believe the solutions for our family law clients won’t always be found inside the courtroom. We also seek results through mediation, arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, which can save time and money and reduce the emotional stress for all parties involved.

At our firm, you will find experienced Michigan family law attorneys who have helped clients work through a variety of legal issues, including:
- Divorce. A person going through the break-up of a marriage needs a divorce attorney who both understands the sensitivity of the situation and the importance of working hard to protect the client’s rights and assets. Our divorce lawyers can guide you through an annulment, separation or divorce as well as the financial, property and child custody issues that surround the process.
- Child Custody. Whenever a family relationship changes, a child’s best interests are at stake. We work to protect and promote those interests by seeking the most appropriate custody and visitation arrangements between parents and, in some cases, grandparents.
- Child Support. Parents, whether married or unmarried, need to share in caring for and supporting their children. We can assist clients in obtaining temporary or permanent child support, enforcing in-state or out-of-state judgments, establishing paternity, recovering arrearages and modifying or terminating child support payments.
- Equitable Distribution. Couples rarely think about future disputes at the time they are acquiring real and personal property during a marriage. That can lead to problems when the marriage dissolves and the parties need to classify, value and divide the marital estate. We can assist clients in these steps and in working toward a fair and reasonable distribution of their marital property.
- Parenting Time. Whether the parents are married or apart, a child needs a loving and supporting relationship with both of them in order to enjoy a healthy childhood. In many cases, the parenting time schedule can be agreed upon by the parents outside of court. Under Michigan law, a mediator must be provided at the parents’ request to help them reach a voluntary resolution of their custody dispute. However, the use of a mediator is not required.
- Property Division. When a couple decides to separate or divorce, all marital property must be distributed between the parties. This is done through either a separation agreement, negotiated out of court, or through a court order that will involve a three-step process called “equitable distribution.”
- Spousal Support. We are committed to achieving results for our clients when it comes to spousal support, or maintenance, which results from a separation or divorce. We can help clients obtain temporary or permanent spousal support, enforce in-state or out-of-state judgments, recover arrearages and modify or terminate spousal support payments.
