The car reportedly burst into flames upon impact and despite the heroic efforts of witnesses as well as fire fighters, the blaze could not be extinguished. Both teens were killed as a result. Multi-Car Pileup on US-31 Injures Deputy

mlive.comIn what could be termed a miracle, there was only one injury in the massive car pileup that happened on Southbound U.S. 31 at White Lake Drive.  Believed to be a result of the recent winter weather, the pileup began just after 9:30 in the morning and at least two police vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction collision that police estimated to be about 40 vehicles.. Michigan Officials Working to Reduce Car Accidents Caused by Drunk Driving

Distracted Driving Contributed to Fatal Michigan Car Accident

Distracted driving is becoming one of the leading causes of motor vehicle accidents today. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 3,331 people lost their lives as the result of crashes caused by distracted drivers in 2011.
