Julia Jordan ScottIn an accident that happened last month, a minivan driven by Anneka Vels, 17 years old, slide off the road and crash into a large tree as she was attempting to drive herself and her brother Landon Vels to school. The car reportedly burst into flames upon impact and despite the heroic efforts of witnesses as well as fire fighters, the blaze could not be extinguished. Both teens were killed as a result. In 2007, Kirby J. Colling was a 21-year-old college student, working his way to becoming a Buffalo police officer. He has an associate degree in criminal justice, served as an intern for a number of different law enforcement agencies, and he was also working at Hanes Supply delivering documents to Frontier Fibers, a locally owned waste paper and metal recycling facility.

Multi-Car Pileup on US-31 Injures Deputy

mlive.comIn what could be termed a miracle, there was only one injury in the massive car pileup that happened on Southbound U.S. 31 at White Lake Drive.  Believed to be a result of the recent winter weather, the pileup began just after 9:30 in the morning and at least two police vehicles were involved in the chain-reaction collision that police estimated to be about 40 vehicles.. Michigan Officials Working to Reduce Car Accidents Caused by Drunk Driving

The Michigan Car Accident Lawyers with Stroble Law explain that drunk driving is one of the leading causes of motor vehicle collisions today. In fact, data from the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning shows that roughly 4 percent of all collisions in Michigan during 2012 listed alcohol as a contributing factor.
