A 33-year-old officer with the New Baltimore Police Department was killed earlier this week in a Michigan Car Accident. Reports indicate the crash occurred on the night of Sunday, June 2, along Jefferson Avenue in Chesterfield Township.

Michigan Nursing Home Abuse More Prevalent than Previously Believed

Elder abuse is a major problem across Michigan, especially in nursing home settings. And a recent study conducted at Michigan State University pointed out this type of abuse may be much more common than previously believed.

A team of researchers took a random sample of 452 adults with relatives living in nursing homes who are over the age of 65-years-old. They concluded that almost one-quarter of respondents reported their loved one had been a victim of Michigan Nursing Home Abuse at least once during their stay at a care facility.

Drunk driving is a major problem in Michigan. The Century Council estimates that, in 2011, a total of 255 people died as a result of Michigan Car Accidents caused by drunk drivers.

A 76-year-old man died after sustaining Catastrophic Personal Injuries as the result of a lawn tractor accident last week. Reports indicate that the incident occurred just before 3 p.m. last Monday afternoon at the man’s home on Bad Axe Road in Bingham Township, Michigan.
